A month ago, I met Gehla who is a cabbage and potato farmer in the Ixopo area. I’ve been doing agriculture photography for Harry Gwala Agri, an NGO that coordinates mentorship programs for emerging farmers in KwaZulu-Natal with the help of local commercial farmers. Gehla has been mentored by local farmer Beesie Stone over the years and is a true success story in our area. I couldn’t help but not notice the neat rows of cabbages, the lack of weeds and beautiful, healthy looking cabbages all set for the market! Gehla has a bumper crop of cabbages and should be proud!
Here are a few of my favourite images from the shoot!
