iNsingizi Lodge Photoshoot

I recently did a photoshoot of the beautiful iNsingizi Lodge in Mid illovo, KZN. The purpose for the shoot was to take photos that can be used for their marketing, in particular their social media which is outsourced to KZN marketing company, Cindy Kidger Communications.

By the time I got to the lodge, I must have stopped at least 10 times to capture the varied landscapes, from the sun rising over cane fields, to the paved road that winds its way up through bushveld studded with flowering Ferox aloes. The road to the lodge itself feels intentional, like it’s purpose is not only to get you there but to unwind you bit by bit and to take you into another world, far away from the busyness of life.

I fell in love with iNsingizi on arrival, an intimate and secluded lodge tucked away in a valley of Natal Forest. The lodge itself has been designed and built with the surrounding nature as a feature, like the outdoor shower that looks on to the moss-covered roots of an old fig tree, the wooden walk way that winds its way through forest to the rooms and then the spa, perched on the top of the hill surrounded by colorful succulents, face to face with the rising sun.

Only an hour away from Pietermaritzburg and Durban, you need not travel far to reach the other side of the world!
